My First DIY wedding craft

Awhile back I bought The DIY Bride: 40 Fun Projects for Your Ultimate One-of-a-Kind Wedding and this week I did a trial run of one of the crafts I am considering for the wedding: a cupcake stand.

Since we are considering having cupcakes for the wedding we could really save some money by not renting a cupcake stand from the bakery.

So, using three cake boards, some scrapbook paper, a glue stick, hot glue gun, 2 pint glasses, 4 shot glasses, and my mediocre crafting skills I made

Notice it is a bit lopsided. Lining up the pint glasses proved a bit difficult. I think next time I'll try this cupcake stand as I think it might turn out sturdier. Though I also like the idea of using a clear glass container like this one and putting flowers or fish inside of it to make it more interesting.

Here it is with cupcakes on it:

And since I'm trying to convince my fiance that I can make the cupcakes for our wedding, here's a couple pictures of the ones I make for his birthday:

Raspberry filled lemon cupcake with lemon cream cheese frosting

Raspberry filled chocolate cupcakes

The one in back with just mint for garnish is a Lemon curd filled lemon cupcake with lemon cream cheese frosting

I made the lemon cream cheese frosting from scratch and it was just to die for!

What do you think? Are my cupcakes good enough for a wedding?
